These re-milled ties come from a temporary railroad used during the construction of a new 2.7-mile tunnel that extends from Ballard to Wallingford as part of the Ship Canal Water Quality Project. They consist of a mix of different hardwoods and since they were temporary, they are untreated!
They have been milled and surfaced at our very own Tacoma mill into dimensional stock ideal for shelving, furniture making or a variety of other projects. Due to the nature of the material each board has it's own grain character and history. May have nail or spike holes and/or the distinct staining from the minerals they lived in.
